1. Las Partes
El Promovente es Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., con domicilio en México, Distrito Federal, México, representada por Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados, México, con domicilio en Ciudad de México, DF, México, México.

El Titular es Jean-Francois Normand, con domicilio en Québec, Canadá.

2. El Nombre de Dominio y el Registrador
La Solicitud tiene como objeto el nombre de dominio <walmart.mx>.

El registrador del citado nombre de dominio es GoDaddy.com.

3. Iter Procedimental
La Solicitud se presentó ante el Centro de Arbitraje y Mediación de la OMPI (el “Centro”) el 1 de diciembre de 2009. El 1 de diciembre de 2009 el Centro envió a Registry.MX vía correo electrónico una solicitud de verificación registral en relación con el nombre de dominio en disputa. El 2 de diciembre de 2009, Registry.MX envió al Centro, vía correo electrónico, su respuesta confirmando que el Titular es la persona que figura como registrante, y proporcionando a su vez los datos de contacto de los contactos administrativo, técnico y de facturación.

On Wednesday, 25 November 2009, ICANN terminated its accreditation agreement with three registrars — Hosting365 Inc., OOO “Russian Registrar” and R.B. Data Net LTD for failure to comply with the requirements of the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA).

The RAA is the contract between ICANN and registrars that governs the registration of domain names under generic top-level domains such as dot-com and dot-org.

Letters have been sent to each registrar outlining the decision and reason behind the decision. (continue reading…)

Seoul: The first Internet addresses containing non-Latin characters from start to finish will soon be online thanks to today’s approval of the new Internationalized Domain Name Fast Track Process by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers board.

“The coming introduction of non-Latin characters represents the biggest technical change to the Internet since it was created four decades ago,” said ICANN chairman Peter Dengate Thrush. “Right now Internet address endings are limited to Latin characters – A to Z. But the Fast Track Process is the first step in bringing the 100,000 characters of the languages of the world online for domain names.” (continue reading…)

ICANN has authorized a bulk transfer of registrar Red Register Inc.’s domain names to DirectNIC Ltd., due to the de-accreditation of Red Register Inc.

The affected gTLD registries have taken steps to effect bulk transfers of Red Register’s names.

Why was this transfer authorized by ICANN? Red Register’s Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) was terminated by ICANN because of Red Register’s failure to comply with the requirements of the RAA. (continue reading…)
